What we do
With support from Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), National Horticulture Board (NHB) will establish crop-specific Clean Plant Centers (CPCs). These Centers will oversee the testing, clean-up, maintenance, and distribution of clean Generation 1 (G1) planting material. Accredited nurseries will obtain G1 material for multiplication. Before reaching farmers, the multiplied planting material will be inspected and certified by NHB-appointed nursery inspectors.
NHB with the help of ICAR will establish crop specific CPCs at different ICAR institutes. These CPCs will be responsible for propagation, inspection, testing and distribution of clean G1 planting material. Large and small accredited nurseries will procure the G1 planting material for further multiplication into G2 and G3 generations. These multiplied planting materials at nurseries will be inspected and certified before supply to farmers by nursery inspectors appointed by NHB.
