A landmark study of Grape virus hazard analysis has been initiated under this program at IARI, New Delhi in coordination with ICAR NRC for Grapes. A total of 540 samples of grape collected from the vineyards across the nation for hazard analysis under India’s clean plant program. Samples have been analyzed for known viruses and some samples for novel viruses. HTS sequencing and analysis is in the process. This is the first of its kind study to have done the hazard analysis at this extensive level covering the entire country’s vineyards with 98% confidence level to detect virus spectrum before initiating clean plant centre’s.
