The visit took place from 12 th to 19 th June, 2023 to different Clean Plant Centers of USA. Approximately, 08 delegates from MoAFW, ICAR HQ, ICAR Institutes i.e. proposed CPC’s, along with members from the National Horticulture Board (NHB) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) team participated in this visit.
With exposure of the best practices followed across clean plant centers of US, India delegation visited Foundation Plant Services (FPS) Clean Stock Programs of University of California- Davis, Gless Ranch Nursery (growing citrus in a quarantine-free region), Inland Desert Nursery, TRECO® major producer of dwarfing and semi-dwarfing apple rootstocks in the world etc. Participants had technical deliberations with US scientists and such exposure will help Government of India to devise suitable action plan to implement Clean Plant Program in the country.
